Hi, I’m Zarina, a creative sweet tooth and mom of four beautiful children, and yes, love to sweets comes first.
If you’re here and reading this text, then you and I have something in common and that’s a love of beautiful and delicious food.
Did I ever think I would become a baker? Teaching? No! At one time I gave up going to culinary school and went to study economics, then law. Then I had many years of work experience in various fields, from tourism to the Moscow Government. Many years after graduation, while I was expecting my third child, I realized that it was becoming impossible for me to go back to work in its general sense, and so I had to find something that would not interfere with raising children, so I went back to what I gave up many years ago – to cooking.
Did I have a degree in pastry arts when I started baking? No! I still don’t, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t dream of graduating from a French school and doing an apprenticeship where they bake a thousand loaves a day. I do, but that dream I pushed back to “a little later” and pushed the lever available to me – my mom, chef and pastry chef.
I definitely want to tell you a few words about my mom, not only because she is my biggest inspiration, but also because she can be your inspiration, too.
My mother started cooking at the age of 45. She finished a six-month course at one of Moscow’s schools, got her diploma, and went to look for a job as a cooker in a Moscow restaurant. In order not to bore you with a long text I will tell you the main thing at once: in 3 years she was already a chef in one of the most popular restaurants in the center of Moscow.
Why am I telling you all this? No, not to brag, I just know for sure that one of you is about to make a decision to quit, and the other is afraid that she will not succeed because she studied for something completely different, the third thinks that family and children get in the way of her career, the fourth thinks that any business requires a big investment, etc., and I hope that after reading our story, you will be a little braver.
A woman spends most of her life in the kitchen, well, I’ll teach you how to make the most of it, and that’s why you’re here!
